Job summary

Allianz Australia in Sydney is seeking a Senior Manager, Risk and Compliance to lead risk and compliance across a digital claims environment, partnering with business leaders to embed governance and controls.

You will guide regulatory obligations, emerging risks, and transformation, steer Line 1 risk practices, and coach teams to sustain a strong risk culture. This hybrid role offers a chance to shape risk strategy within a global insurance leader.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years' experience in Operational Risk, Risk & Compliance, or Governance within regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of risk frameworks and controls.
• Experience partnering with business and IT to embed risk management and governance.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and enhancement of risk and compliance activities, including governance, controls and emerging areas such as automated claims and straight-through processing environments.
• Provide practical risk and compliance advice on business change helping identify and manage risks early.
• Partner with the business to embed strong Line 1 risk management and governance into day-to-day decision-making.
• Bring strong controls expertise to help assess and enhance the control environment, identify gaps and support improvements.
• Monitor incidents, issues, key risk indicators and emerging risks, providing actionable insights to business leaders.
• Support the business to understand and meet regulatory obligations as processes, technology and customer interactions evolve.
• Promote a strong risk and controls culture through stakeholder engagement, coaching, and practical risk advice.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to navigate transformation and digitisation while maintaining risk controls.
