Job summary

Berry Street in Melbourne is seeking a Senior Residential Care Worker to support day-to-day supervision of children and young people in the home, under the House Supervisor. The role focuses on safety, structure, wellbeing and compliance with Berry Street procedures.

You will lead and coach a team of Residential Care workers, ensure quality outcomes, and safeguard the rights and connections of young people to family and community.

Qualifications

• The successful applicant will hold a minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or a relevant qualification (Youth Work, Community Services or Alcohol & Other Drugs fields).
• Excellent teamwork, communication and boundary-keeping skills are required.
• Valid driver's license (green Ps) is essential for transporting young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and mentoring to Residential Care workers to support outcomes for children and young people in care.
• Assist House Supervisor in day-to-day house operations in line with Berry Street policies and practice standards.
• Help ensure safety, structure, wellbeing and family connections for young people at all times.
