Job summary

Premier’s Department in New South Wales seeks a Senior Regional Coordination Officer to lead cross‑agency projects shaping regional priorities from Dubbo and the Western NSW region. You will drive complex policy, project and coordination work, manage cross‑agency initiatives, and deliver high‑level briefs and reports for senior government leaders.

  • Drive whole-of-government projects that support regional communities
  • Seeking strategic expert with strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills to join the Infrastructure and Regional Coordination branch
  • Ongoing, Clerk Grade 9/10 ($133,348 - $146,945 per annum) opportunity, based in Dubbo and the Western NSW Regional Coordination team.
About the Role

As our Senior Regional Coordination Officer, you will lead complex policy, project, and coordination work to support the delivery of the Government’s priorities across NSW. You will manage cross-agency initiatives, provide high-quality briefings and reports for senior government leaders, and support key decision‑making processes.

In this rewarding role, you will engage with government agencies, councils, industry, and community stakeholders to ensure regional priorities are understood and addressed. You will coordinate whole‑of‑government responses, manage stakeholder relationships, and represent the Department in negotiations. Your ability to analyse issues, drive projects, and provide strategic advice will be essential in delivering positive outcomes for regional communities.

We're Looking For
  • Strategic Coordination Experience: Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and implement regional and cross‑government projects that support long‑term outcomes for communities
  • Regional Knowledge and Community Focus: Deep understanding of the economic, environmental and social issues facing regional NSW, particularly in the context of long‑term community development in Western NSW.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage projects, multiple priorities and meet deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high‑quality outcomes
  • Whole‑of‑Government Delivery: Strong track record in delivering outcomes across multiple agencies, including navigating intergovernmental frameworks, supporting Regional Leadership Executives, and preparing high‑level advice to senior executives, Ministers and the Premier.
  • Government Knowledge and Policy Insight: Sound understanding of the machinery of government, Cabinet processes, ministerial briefings and public sector accountability, with the ability to represent departmental interests in negotiations and decision‑making forums
  • Communication and Briefing Excellence: High‑level written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare succinct, accurate and persuasive briefs, correspondence and stakeholder presentations
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Influence: Proven success in building and maintaining effective working relationships with government agencies, councils, non‑government organisations and community leaders, including the ability to broker solutions in complex and politically sensitive environments.

Clerk Grade 9/10. Package includes base salary ($133,348 - $146,945) plus superannuation (12%) and leave loading.
