  • Ongoing, Clerk Grade 11/12 opportunity ($154,231 - $178,369 per annum) based in Martin Place, Sydney.
About the Role

The Associate Director, Technology Business Operations is responsible for leading the financial, procurement, contract management and business operations functions of the Digital & Information branch. The role ensures strong governance, operational excellence, and the effective delivery of strategic and business objectives through robust financial oversight and commercial management.

  • Budget and Financial Management: Lead and optimise branch budgeting, financial planning, forecasting and reporting processes to ensure resources are allocated effectively and aligned with strategic and operational priorities.
  • Procurement and Contract Management: Manage technology and digital procurement activities and contracts, ensuring compliance with government policies and procurement frameworks while delivering value, performance and commercial outcomes.
  • Technology Financial Operations (FinOps): Oversee technology cost management, consumption analysis, forecasting, chargeback/showback reporting and optimisation initiatives to strengthen financial accountability and maximise value from technology services.
  • Financial Analysis and Strategic Advice: Prepare financial reports, analysis, briefings and recommendations that support informed decision-making, compliance, strategic planning and value-for-money outcomes.
  • Business Management and Executive Support: Provide business management and executive support to the Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO) through the coordination of governance reporting, briefings, correspondence, business planning and stakeholder engagement activities.
