The Eurobodalla Shire Council in Moruya is offering a permanent full-time role in the Compliance team. You will assist in coordinating the control and regulation of public order and safety, delivering high-level customer service in line with legislation and policies.
You will bring a Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services/Control) or equivalent, with leadership experience supervising teams, investigations, and report writing.
This is a permanent full-time role in the Compliance team, based at Moruya. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the coordination of the control and regulation of public order and safety. High level customer service will be provided in accordance with the relevant legislation and Council policies.
The starting salary for this position is $ 3,122.67 per fortnight, plus 12% superannuation. A fully maintained Council vehicle for to/from home use is available with this position.
You are a highly experienced regulatory professional with a Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services/Control) or an equivalent qualification, backed by extensive knowledge of local government legislation, compliance frameworks, and enforcement practices. With proven leadership experience, you have successfully supervised and developed small teams, fostering a positive, accountable, and high-performing culture. Your expertise in conducting investigations and enforcing legislation is complemented by your ability to exercise sound judgement, prepare detailed reports, and deliver balanced outcomes that support both community safety and legislative compliance.
As a confident and resilient communicator, you build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and excel in negotiation, conflict resolution, and community engagement. You are comfortable working autonomously in challenging and unpredictable environments, using initiative and professionalism to manage complex situations and achieve practical solutions. Highly organised and technologically proficient, you are experienced in using Microsoft Office applications and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to support operational planning, data management, reporting, and service delivery. Above all, you are committed to providing exceptional customer service while maintaining a fair, consistent, and community-focused approach to regulatory enforcement.
