Job summary

Wollondilly Shire Council is seeking an Environment Officer - Enforcement (Ranger) to join our Ranger Services team. This permanent full-time role involves regulatory investigations, parking patrols, and supporting animal shelter operations while engaging with the community.

Successful candidates will have a NSW Driver’s Licence, WWCC, and at least two years in enforcement. The role requires out-of-hours work and rosters, with on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence and a valid Working with Children Check.
  • Minimum two years relevant work experience in a regulatory and enforcement role.
  • Experience in parking patrols including school zones and related penalties.
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, and solve problems daily.
  • Experience in preparing legal evidence, notices, orders and directions.
  • Superior verbal communication, engagement and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out regulatory investigations and enforcement activities.
  • Undertake routine parking patrols and issue penalties as required.
  • Assist with operation of Council’s animal shelter.
  • Help deliver public education programs and events across the community.

Summary of the position:

  • Permanent Full-Time, 38 hours per week with regular fortnightly RDO
  • Salary commencing from $87,734 p.a. + 12% Superannuation + allowances including on-call as required of the position
  • Leaseback Motor Vehicle

Supported by a service-driven team, you will carry out regulatory investigations and enforcement activities, undertake routine parking patrols, assist with the operation of Council’s animal shelter, and help deliver public education programs and events across our community.

The successful applicant will demonstrate their competency for the position, by meeting the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of legal evidence, notices, orders and directions.
  • Superior verbal communication, engagement and conflict resolution skills.

This position will be required to work out-of-hours, including on-call during the week and weekends as per roster rotation.
