Byron Shire Council is seeking a Development Support Officer to deliver high-level customer service and specialist planning advice within the Sustainable Development Team. The role includes managing development applications, supporting pre-lodgement processes and liaising with internal teams.
The position is permanent full-time (35 hours per week) with flexible working arrangements and a salary range aligned to NSW Local Government awards.

As part of the Sustainable Development Team, the Development Support Officer delivers a high level of customer service in the provision of specialist planning advice in the development, construction and other related approval processes, including pre-lodgement enquiries and registration of development applications. The role provides direct administrative support to the two planning teams in terms of managing the development application process through the NSW Planning Portal including registration of development applications and issuing development consents. The role also assists other teams within Council with development matters as required.
This position is primarily based at our Mullumbimby Office; however Council can require you to work from other work sites as required for operational reasons.
