Job summary

Riverlane in Cambridge is seeking a Senior Compiler Engineer for its Systems Team. You will configure software libraries and low-level code to run our DeltaFlow hardware, ensuring low-latency, high-throughput performance and adapting software to evolving quantum control systems.

The role involves collaboration with customers, integration on-site, and working with the Quantum Application Team to design experiments, benchmark latency, and assist with troubleshooting and data verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE or related field.
• Broad knowledge of software/hardware stack: compilers, OS, architectures.
• Experience in compilers (LLVM/MLIR or others).
• Experience shipping software to users.
• Proficiency in Python; proficiency in C++ or Rust.
• Ability to convert product requirements into technical specifications.
• Curious, self-motivated learner with a collaborative mindset.
• Excellent communication skills, able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Host Technical Workshops on Riverlane’s QEC Interface.
• Evaluate Customers Control System and Data Communication requirements.
• Integration On-Site: End-to-End System Deployment.
• Write Python or C++ to adapt to customer’s control systems and ensure data packets are received correctly.
• Collaborate with Riverlane’s Quantum Application Team to design experiments.
• Benchmark and discover hardware latency limitations.
• Troubleshooting: report issues and replicate setup with QA.
• Write scripts to debug and trace faults.
• Update verification environment and test vectors from experiments.
• Advocate for customers: feedback features to Product Team.
• Highlight success and issues on customer’s Quantum Systems.
• Feedback key features for current and next-gen products.
