Job summary

Synechron in Sydney is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build secure, scalable software using Python, with strong emphasis on AWS and cloud-native architectures.

You will own end-to-end delivery of banking and trade finance solutions, contribute to distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines, and advocate for CI/CD, observability, and DevSecOps practices while mentoring teammates and driving architectural improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong Python development and system-design experience.
• Experience with AWS, cloud-native, distributed, and event-driven systems.
• Experience with APIs, data-intensive apps, CI/CD, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, security, and production support.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Banking, lending or financial markets experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable software using Python.
• Build APIs, data pipelines, automation workflows, and event-driven systems.
• Implement CI/CD, DevOps, observability, and DevSecOps practices.
• Take ownership of solutions from design through production support.
• Contribute to architecture, code reviews, mentoring, and technical improvements.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and quality.
