Job summary

WorkPac in Perth is seeking an experienced Senior Project Planner to lead planning and scheduling for a major capital project. You will own the Integrated Project Master Schedule, coordinating with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams to deliver the project on time.

The role requires advanced Primavera P6 and MS Project skills, strong stakeholder engagement, and a track record delivering complex mining or industrial projects in owner’s team or EPCM environments.

Qualifications

• Extensive planning/scheduling experience on major capital projects.
• Advanced Primavera P6 and MS Project proficiency.
• Experience with integrated project master schedules.
• Mining or large industrial project background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the Integrated Project Master Schedule.
• Develop and manage project schedules across all delivery phases.
• Lead planning activities from feasibility through to handover.
• Facilitate planning workshops and schedule review sessions.
• Integrate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning schedules.
• Monitor schedule performance and forecast project outcomes.
• Identify schedule risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Lead schedule recovery planning where required.
• Provide independent schedule analysis and performance reporting.
• Challenge progress claims, assumptions, and forecast accuracy.
• Support project controls and decision-making processes.
• Mentor and provide guidance to project and contractor planners.

About The Client

Our client operates the worlds largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets. These assets include a world-class, integrated network of 15 iron ore mines, four port facilities, a 1,700 kilometre rail network and related infrastructure.

About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Planner to lead planning and scheduling activities for a major capital project. Working as part of the owner's team, you will be responsible for developing, integrating, maintaining, and optimising the Project Master Schedule across all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the Integrated Project Master Schedule
• Develop and manage project schedules across all delivery phases
• Lead planning activities from feasibility through to handover

Skills And Experience Required

• Significant experience planning and scheduling major capital projects
• Advanced Primavera P6 capability
• Experience developing and managing integrated project master schedules
• Strong owner's team, EPCM, or major project delivery experience
• Experience with contractor schedule integration and recovery planning
• Mining, iron ore, resources, or large industrial project experience preferred
• Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
• Valid C Class Licence
