Job summary

Peoplebank is partnering with a leading Australian utilities provider to appoint a Senior Project Manager / Programme Lead. You will run a feasibility assessment of the current customer billing platform and supporting operating model/vendor arrangement, to determine whether change is required and identify the best path forward.

Location is open to QLD, VIC, NSW or ACT with flexible/remote arrangements considered.

Qualifications

• Experience in the Utilities sector (water/energy).
• Senior project/program leadership on feasibility and options engagements.
• Hands-on exposure to customer billing / CIS / revenue / payments platforms.
• Strong commercial & analytical capability: TCO modelling, cost/benefit, risk analysis, options comparison.
• Ability to produce executive/board-level business cases, recommendations and papers.
• Stakeholder management across Technology, Finance, Customer, Operations and Procurement.
• Vendor/partner engagement.
• Excellent written communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

You will evaluate the current state, quantify risk and total cost of ownership, compare future options and produce board-ready recommendations. This role is not focused on delivering a new billing system implementation—its purpose is to determine whether change is required and, if so, the best path forward.

Required skills

• Proven experience in the Utilities sector (water/energy)
• Senior project/program leadership on core system feasibility, options assessment, strategy engagements
• Hands-on exposure to customer billing / CIS / revenue / payments platforms and their integrations
• Strong commercial & analytical capability: TCO modelling, cost/benefit, risk analysis, options comparison
• Ability to produce executive/board-level documentation (business cases, recommendations, decision papers)
• Stakeholder management across Technology, Finance, Customer, Operations and Procurement
