Job summary

Duratec Australia is seeking a seasoned project leader to deliver a landmark $100M+ greenfield hydrogen project based in Newcastle. You will take ownership of construction delivery, governance, and commissioning, coordinating diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve milestones on time and within budget.

The role requires extensive experience in large-scale industrial construction, strong safety and quality management, and a collaborative leadership style to drive performance across project

Qualifications

• Relevant trade or tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale industrial construction projects valued in excess of $50M.
• Experience in sectors such as fuel terminals, gas processing facilities, water treatment plants, energy, chemicals, heavy industry, or similar process infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP) project delivery.
• Experience with pipelines, SCADA, HV/LV electrical infrastructure, control systems and complex systems integration is highly desirable.
• Extensive commissioning and quality management experience within industrial or process plant environments.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong programme development, planning and project controls capability.
• Collaborative leadership style with the ability to drive performance across project teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end leadership of a major industrial construction project from mobilisation through to commissioning and handover.
• Develop, maintain and monitor detailed project programmes against milestones, budget and quality objectives.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and manage subcontractors across multiple work fronts.
• Drive stakeholder engagement and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, regulators and delivery partners.
• Manage project governance, reporting, risk and commercial outcomes.
• Oversee quality assurance, quality control and commissioning activities to ensure successful project completion.
• Coordinate complex interfaces across civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and control systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and project-specific requirements.

THE ROLE

Based in Newcastle, you will lead the delivery of a landmark $100M+ greenfield hydrogen project. This is an exciting opportunity for a proven industrial construction professional to take ownership of one of the Hunter Region's most significant energy infrastructure projects. This role will utilise your experience delivering complex industrial projects, with responsibility for construction delivery, stakeholder management, project governance, quality outcomes and commissioning.
