Job summary

Duratec is seeking an experienced Project Engineer in Townsville to support remediation, construction and infrastructure projects. You will work with the Senior Project Manager to coordinate activities, manage commercial requirements and drive safe, high-quality outcomes.

Role involves budgeting, cost control and contract administration, with a focus on safety, quality and environmental compliance across multiple sites in Australia. A leadership path and strong career development are offered.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience delivering projects from planning to completion.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting and cost-control abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support remediation, construction and infrastructure project delivery from planning to completion.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cost control and commercial reporting.

  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and project resources to meet objectives.
  • Provide engineering advice on design, construction and modifications.

THE ROLE

Duratec are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of remediation, construction and infrastructure projects. Working closely with the Senior Project Manager, you will coordinate project activities, manage commercial requirements and drive safe, high-quality project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of remediation, construction and infrastructure projects from planning through to completion.
  • Assist with project budgeting, forecasting, cost control and commercial reporting.
  • Administer contracts, progress claims and variations in accordance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and project resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Provide technical support and engineering advice relating to design, construction and project modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
About You
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in project delivery, including planning, coordination and contractor management.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain professional client relationships.
  • Strong planning, programming and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify project risks and opportunities.
  • Sound understanding of quality, safety and environmental requirements, with a commitment to HSEQ compliance.
