Job summary

Duratec is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver complex construction and remediation projects across Central Queensland from our Gladstone base, helping establish and shape a high-performing local team and culture.

You will lead safety, budgets, contracts and stakeholder relationships, mentor project teams and drive quality and continuous improvement as the business grows in the region.

Qualifications

  • Engineering or construction management degree or relevant trade.
  • Experience delivering complex projects from initiation to completion.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting and cost control skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor project teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong planning, problem solving and decision making in fast-paced environments.
  • Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the safe and successful delivery of construction, remediation and infrastructure projects from planning through to completion.

THE ROLE

Duratec are seeking an experienced Project Manager to play a key role in delivering complex construction and remediation projects across the Central Queensland region. As part of our growing Gladstone operation, you'll have the unique opportunity to help establish and shape a high-performing local team, contribute to the development of our regional culture, and support the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the safe and successful delivery of construction, remediation and infrastructure projects from planning through to completion.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost control and commercial performance to maximise profitability and achieve project objectives.
  • Administer client contracts, progress claims and variations, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and maintaining a strong commercial position.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders to support project success and future opportunities.
  • Lead, mentor and coordinate project teams, creating a collaborative and high-performing culture while supporting the growth of Duratec's Central Queensland operations.
  • Drive safety, quality and operational excellence across all project activities, ensuring compliance with company systems, legislative requirements and HSEQ standards.

ABOUT YOU

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or relevant trade qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex projects from initiation through to completion.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost control and contract administration.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop high-performing project teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build lasting client, subcontractor and supplier relationships.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement, coupled with strong communication and leadership skills.
