Job summary

ERSCON Pty. Ltd. in Cairns is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee civil infrastructure and land development projects across Queensland.

You will lead end‑to‑end delivery, manage budgets, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate has a degree in Engineering or related field and at least 8 years of experience in consultancy environments, with strong leadership, client management, and knowledge of local council approvals.

• Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience managing civil infrastructure, land development, or structural projects.
• Strong commercial acumen with budgets, schedules and contract negotiations.
• Familiarity with Queensland regional council frameworks and approvals processes.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Project Delivery: lead civil/structural projects from scoping to handover.
• Financial & Risk Management: manage budgets, forecast variations, mitigate risks.
• Stakeholder & Client Management: primary contact for clients, sub-consultants, contractors and authorities.
• Team Coordination: mobilise engineers and surveyors to meet milestones within budget.
• Contract Administration: manage engineering contracts with safety and quality compliance.

What You’ll Do

End-to-End Project Delivery: Lead civil and structural engineering projects from initial scoping and tendering through to design, construction, and final handover.

Financial & Risk Management: Establish and manage project budgets, tracking financial performance, forecasting variations, and proactively mitigating project risks.

Stakeholder & Client Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, sub-consultants, contractors, and local government authorities to ensure seamless project execution.

Team Coordination: Mobilise and manage internal design teams, engineers, and surveyors to ensure projects hit technical milestones on time and within budget.

Contract Administration: Manage and administer engineering contracts, ensuring full compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
