Job summary

ProFound People Pty Ltd in Brisbane seeks a Senior Project Manager with a strong mechanical engineering background for a 6- to 12-month contract. You will lead projects from concept through design, manufacture, testing and delivery, coordinating engineering, procurement and manufacturing teams.

Key duties include managing scope, schedule, budget and resources, and maintaining stakeholder relationships while driving risk management and continuous improvement in a hybrid Brisbane setting.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing projects in engineering or manufacturing.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Experience with heavy equipment, mining, Oil & Gas preferred.
• Proven ability to drive projects from concept to delivery.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

TYPE – Contract, 6-12 months

LOCATION – Brisbane, QLD / Hybrid

My client designs and manufactures heavy equipment for Mining and O&G projects. They are looking for a Senior Project Manager with a strong mechanical engineering background to join their team in Brisbane on a contract basis.

The Senior Project Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

• Significant experience in Project Management within a relevant engineering or manufacturing environment
• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Previous experience managing projects involving heavy equipment, machinery, mining, Oil & Gas or similar
• Proven experience managing projects from concept through to design, manufacture, testing and delivery
• Strong project management skills across scope, schedule, budget, resources and risk
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, clients and senior management
• Strong understanding of project documentation, reporting and project controls
• Able to identify and resolve technical, commercial and project-related issues
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Able to hit the ground running and operate with minimal supervision

The Senior Project Manager role will involve:

• Managing projects from initial scope through to delivery
• Taking ownership of project schedules, budgets, resources and deliverables
• Working closely with engineering and design teams to ensure projects are delivered to specification
• Coordinating manufacturing, fabrication, suppliers, subcontractors and other project stakeholders
• Identifying and mitigating project risks and resolving issues as they arise
• Managing client and stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle
• Reviewing technical documentation, drawings and project deliverables
• Working closely with engineering, procurement, manufacturing and commissioning
• Supporting continuous improvement across project delivery processes
