Job summary

Thiess, a CIMIC group company, is seeking an experienced Finance & Administration Manager to lead the Olive Downs Complex project finance and administration in Brisbane with some site travel.

You will partner with project leadership and clients to drive governance, budgeting, forecasting and financial performance across the project. Join a safety‑driven, collaborative team delivering commercial outcomes on major mining construction.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualification.
• Significant project accounting or commercial finance experience in mining, resources, construction or heavy industry.
• Strong end-of-month reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, working capital and financial governance.
• Commercial acumen with ability to provide practical advice and challenge stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project finance and administration function, setting clear priorities, accountabilities and standards for the team.
• Oversee end-of-month deliverables, project reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and financial results.
• Lead monthly cost reviews with project leadership, addressing variances, risks and actions.
• Own annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting for the project.
• Provide high-quality commercial and financial advice to support strategy and delivery of targets.
• Oversee revenue, progress claims, working capital and cash collection with the client.
• Maintain finance systems, processes and controls that meet project requirements.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities and drive actions through to close-out.
• Partner with stakeholders across head office and site to improve reporting quality.
• Coach and develop finance team members.
