Job summary

Silverstrand Developments is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our experienced team and help shape the future of our business. You will be based in SEQ on a DIDO/BIBO roster for a large gas power plant project in Dalby, with a broad civil/FRP scope.

You’ll oversee project execution under the Project Manager, prepare and monitor weekly programs, provide technical guidance, assist with procurement, and ensure safety, quality, and cost controls are maintained.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• 7+ years’ experience on civil infrastructure projects
• Ability to read and understand civil, structural and services drawings
• Experience in construction scheduling and sequencing
• Knowledge of budgets for subcontractors/suppliers and cost control
• Understanding of Quality Control Systems and strong safety record

Responsibilities

• Ensure project works are completed safely and in compliance with procedures, drawings, budgets and timeframes
• Oversee projects under guidance of the Project Manager
• Prepare, monitor and update plans and weekly/monthly programs
• Provide engineering and technical advice to the project team
• Assist with procurement of key subcontractors and suppliers
• Ensure quality requirements are met and manage budgets for subcontractors/suppliers
• Program and plan works and provide cost-to-complete forecasts

Base Salary + Super + Uplift + Vehicle + KPI Bonus

About the role:

• Ensuring that the project works are completed safely and in compliance with Silverstrand and our client’s procedures, engineering drawings/ specifications, budgets and timeframes
• Overseeing projects under the guidance of the Project Manager
• Prepare, monitor and update plans and working to weekly and monthly programs
• Provide engineering and technical advice to the project team
• Assist with Procurement of key subcontractors and suppliers
• Ensuring quality requirements are being met
• Programming and planning of the works
• Preparing monthly financial reports including cost to complete forecasts

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Civil Engineering Degree or similar
• 7+ years’ experiencein an engineering capacity on civil infrastructure projects
• Ability to read and understand civil, structural and services drawings
• Manage and raise technical queries
• Knowledge of construction scheduling and sequencing
• Manage budgets for subcontractors/suppliers
• Understanding of Quality Control Systems
• Excellent safety record from previous projects
