Job summary

Silverstrand Developments is seeking an experienced Civil Planner to shape the future of our business with an established team. Based at Brisbane Head Office, this permanent role reports to the Construction Manager and covers planning across infrastructure projects.

The package includes Base Salary + Super + Vehicle + KPI Bonus Scheme, with opportunities for career progression and sponsorship for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years site experience working on infrastructure projects in the civil space
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Planner
• Demonstrated proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Projects and MS Office suite – essential
• Tender planning would be highly regarded
• Exceptional communications skills – ability to interact, collaborate and consult with project and site staff to provide information flow on the performance of the planning and controls function
• Ability to work across multiple projects at a time

Responsibilities

• Review project planning and programmes for the estimating and project teams
• Prepare and review detailed programmes for all stages of infrastructure projects that are fully resourced and costed
• Lead and ensure appropriate programmes and planning are delegated efficiently
• Present completed programmes to relevant teams for review and feedback
• Undertake risk analysis and implement risk management procedures
• Liaise with stakeholders to assess deviations and implement corrective actions
• Communicate project status and issues to project teams
• Assist to assess delays and disruptions in tender programs
• Facilitate start of projects and hand over to internal teams after tender
• Review tender documents and identify contract requirements
• Forecast costs and time frames with estimators
• Ensure reporting is overseen and distributed to stakeholders
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports including dashboards and s-curves
• Coordinate with site team to capture and report progress

About the role:

Reporting to the Construction Manager.

• Review project planning and programmes for the estimating and project teams.
• Prepareand reviewdetailed programmes for all stages of infrastructure projectsthat are fully resourced and costed,and work with internal teams to manage programs to ensure projectremainson target.
• Lead and ensureappropriate programmesand planning are delegated efficiently, ensuringtimelyprocesses are kept for the transition of pre to post tender stages.
• Presentcompletedprogrammesto the necessary teams for review,alterationsor overall collaborative feedback.
• Undertakeappropriate riskanalysis andutiliserisk management procedures to mitigateprojectrisksasidentified.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to assess the effects of deviations from the project’s programme to ensure correction action is implemented by project team as early as possible.
• Communicate andprovideclear guidance to project teams on project status including any issues that might arise.
• Assistto assessdelaysand disruptionsinline with tender programs.
• Work with Construction team tofacilitatethe start of projects and hand over to internal project team after successful tender bid.
• Work withestimating team to review tender documents,identifycontractrequirementsand review any other factors that might affect project timingwhen responding to tenders.
• Alongside theestimating team, forecast all cost andtime framesfor project scopetoassistthe construction team delivery.
• Ensure reporting is overseen and any discretions addressed with the planning team prior to distribution to project teams.
• Prepare and distributeweekly and monthly reports inclusive of dashboards, histograms and s-curves to all key stakeholders and executive management team.
• Liasingwith site team to accuratelycapture andreport onproject progress.

Essential Skills and Experience:
