Job summary

Silverstrand Developments is seeking a Civil Engineer to join an experienced team, based on Brisbane to Gold Coast sites, in a permanent role. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will ensure safety, manage design and procurement, raise RFIs, and coordinate on-site works with suppliers and subcontractors while maintaining drawings, budgets, and schedules.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and 2+ years' experience in civil infrastructure, plus knowledge of Aus codes and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years in civil infrastructure engineering.
• Experience with concrete construction and drainage works.
• Experience setting out works and height control using a total station.
• Proficiency reading drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and people skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of Aus codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and compliance with procedures on project works.
• Manage design and procurement aspects as required.
• Raise RFIs with clients.
• Coordinate engagement of suppliers, consultants and subcontractors.
• Manage contractor performance in line with scope, budget and schedule.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, budgets and timeframes.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements on site.
• Procure plant and materials as needed.
• Provide technical advice to stakeholders and the project team.
• Daily record keeping and data entry into MS spreadsheets.

Job description

Silverstrand is seeking a Civil Engineer to become a key part in shaping the future of our business alongside an experienced team. You will be based on our Brisbane to Gold Coast sites and employed on a permanent basis.

About the role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring that the project works are completed safely and in line with Silverstrand’s and client’s procedures
• Manage any required aspects of project related design and procurement.
• Raise Requests for Information (RFIs) with the Clients.
• Actively manage the engagement and delivery of works for suppliers, consultants and subcontractors in a schedule of rate and/or lump sum environment.
• Manage contractor performance in accordance with agreed scope, budget, and schedule parameters.
• Engineering drawings/ specifications, budgets, and timeframes
• Ensuring compliance with Safety & site Environmental requirements
• Procurement of plant and materials
• Provision of technical advice to stakeholders and clients
• Provide engineering and technical advice to the project team
• Daily record keeping and input of daily data onto MS spreadsheets

Essential Skills and Experience

• Civil Engineering Degree or similar
• 2+ years’ experience in an engineering capacity on civil infrastructure projects
• Experience with concrete construction and drainage works including pre-pour inspections
• Experience with setting out works and height control using a total station
• Placement and control of concrete orders
• Thorough knowledge of Aus codes and standards
• Strong Communication and people Skills
• Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
• A good understanding of the Microsoft suite, in particular Excel and Word
• Experience in coordinating resources on site and programming of works
