Job summary

BMD Group is recruiting a Senior Project Engineer for the Port Hedland Dampier Salt Concentrator Repair Upgrade Project. You will oversee earthworks-focused civil works, lead engineering efforts, and mentor junior engineers in a remote environment.

You will manage safety, quality, and schedules while engaging with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to deliver safe, timely outcomes and value engineering opportunities across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required (CPEng or RPEQ preferred).
• Minimum 7 years' experience in civil infrastructure projects with a strong earthworks background.
• Solid understanding of Australian construction standards and codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering delivery of civil works with a primary focus on earthworks, including bulk excavation, compaction, and ground improvement.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to meet milestones.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to maintain strong working relationships.
• Review and prepare technical documentation, drawings, and method statements.
• Resolve design and constructability issues with innovative solutions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, specifications, and environmental obligations.
• Support surveying, setting out, and dimensional control activities.
• Drive value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide regular reporting and updates to senior management.
• Mentor and support Project Engineers, Site Engineers, and Graduates

About the Role
