Job summary

Tallai Project Group in Jindabyne, NSW is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead water and wastewater treatment infrastructure delivery, coordinating site operations and subcontractors to ensure on-time, safe, quality outcomes.

You will manage schedules, budgets, and technical documentation while working closely with a multidisciplinary on-site team to meet project milestones and exceed client expectations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering.
• Experience delivering water and/or wastewater treatment plant projects.
• Experience managing subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of Australian WHS, environmental and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the delivery of civil works for water and wastewater treatment projects.
• Manage day-to-day site engineering activities in line with specs and standards.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, site personnel and stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, budgets, schedules and resources.
• Review drawings, specifications, construction methodologies.
• Identify technical issues and resolve delays.
• Ensure WHS, environmental and quality compliance.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain records.
• Support procurement, variations, cost control and reporting.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and construction team to hit milestones.

Tallai is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support the delivery of water and wastewater treatment infrastructure projects in Jindabyne, NSW. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineering professional with strong civil construction experience, proven project delivery capabilities, and a background in water infrastructure.

The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating site operations, managing project schedules, overseeing subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the delivery of civil works associated with water and wastewater treatment projects.
• Manage day-to-day site engineering activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, drawings, and relevant standards.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, site personnel, and project stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, schedules, and resource requirements.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, construction methodologies, and engineering documentation.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, delays, and construction challenges.
• Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, environmental standards, and quality assurance procedures.
• Conduct site inspections, prepare progress reports, and maintain accurate project records.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Previous experience delivering water and/or wastewater treatment plant projects.
• Experience managing subcontractors, project schedules, budgets, and technical documentation.
• A strong understanding of Australian WHS, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in a site-based environment.
