We’re partnering with a nationally respected engineering group that has been delivering cutting‑edge solutions in water, wastewater, and odour control for over 30 years. Their work supports major infrastructure across councils, utilities, developers, and retail channels—offering end‑to‑end system delivery that’s both technically advanced and community‑minded.

With a strong reputation for innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence, this business fosters an environment where professional growth is genuinely supported.

The Role

Join a specialist water infrastructure contractor as a Project Engineer, working in the critical “interface zone” between design and construction. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will deliver pump station and odour control projects from final design review through procurement, fabrication, site installation, and commissioning handover.

This is a truly hands‑on, fast‑paced position where you will manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors, drive QA compliance, and resolve buildability issues on site – ensuring every solution is constructible, safe, and fully compliant with Water Authority standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret mechanical drawings, shop details, P&IDs, and GA drawings to ensure constructibility
  • Coordinate procurement packages, vendor data, and supplier technical submissions
  • Develop and witness ITPs, manage QA documentation, non‑conformances, and factory acceptance testing
  • Provide on‑site technical support during installation, interface with contractors, and assist with commissioning and handover
  • Liaise with clients, water authorities, designers, and site teams to resolve technical and delivery issues
About You
  • Degree‑qualified Mechanical Engineer
  • Minimum 2+ years in water, wastewater, or related process infrastructure (pump stations, odour control, treatment assets highly regarded)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with Inventor or SolidWorks advantageous
  • Proven experience across the D&C lifecycle – procurement, QA/ITP development, supplier coordination, and on‑site installation/commissioning
  • Strong attention to detail with Water Authority compliance documentation (e.g. WSA standards)
  • Excellent time management and stakeholder communication skills in a multi‑project environment

If you’re a well‑rounded mechanical engineer who thrives on delivering real water infrastructure outcomes and wants genuine long‑term growth in a respected specialist firm, this is the opportunity for you.
