Job summary

Newmont Tanami in the remote Northern Territory is seeking a Superintendent, Project Controls to lead the site's Sustaining Capital cost control, planning and reporting activities. This FIFO role concentrates on delivering governance and performance across a portfolio of capital projects with a strong focus on safety and reliability.

The successful candidate will bring 7+ years in mining, deep experience in cost control, scheduling and risk management, and proven leadership of project controls

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years mining industry experience with project controls across a Tier 1 operation.
• Proven expertise in cost control, planning, forecasting, reporting, risk and change control.
• Experience leading Project Controls teams and delivering governance across a portfolio of capital projects.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements in mining.
• Exceptional stakeholder management with operational leaders, engineers, contractors and partners.
• Full and unrestricted eligibility to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the site-based Project Controls team and ensure delivery of cost control, planning and scheduling, estimating, forecasting, reporting and governance.
• Provide project controls leadership and assurance across the Sustaining Capital portfolio with robust reporting and analysis.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers, Operations, Safety, Procurement and other stakeholders to support delivery outcomes.
• Oversee project costs and schedule performance; ensure estimates, forecasts, and progress reporting are accurate and timely.
• Facilitate risk and change management, identifying mitigations and ensuring governance controls.
• Lead monthly portfolio reporting and provide insights to site and senior leadership.
• Ensure systems and reporting comply with QA, document control, procurement and governance requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in project control processes, systems and reporting to enhance performance and value.
• Provide visible safety leadership and uphold Newmont's safety culture on site.
