Job summary

Northern Star Resources is seeking a Geotechnical Superintendent – Projects for our Subiaco Head Office. You will lead geotechnical design and verification for major mining projects and mentor engineers across design and delivery.

With minimum 10 years in open pit and underground mining and a strong risk‑based mindset, you will integrate geotechnical inputs with mine planning, schedules and budgets while upholding our STARR Core Values and delivering robust, fit‑for‑purpose solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years? experience in open pit and underground mining operations and projects.
• Bachelor of Engineering (mining, civil, or geological engineering) and postgraduate degree in mine geomechanics.
• Current Australian C - Class Drivers licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and endorse geotechnical design, analysis, and verification for major or complex mining projects.
• Integrate geotechnical inputs with mine planning, construction, operations, schedules, and budgets.
• Mentor engineers and provide constructive technical challenge to improve decision quality.
• Review and improve inputs from consultants, contractors, and vendors.
• Manage geotechnical uncertainty, limitations, and residual risk.
• Ensure geotechnical work is current, validated, traceable, and peer-reviewed.
