Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Senior Production Engineer to join the operations team near Queenstown. You will optimize hydrocarbon recovery and ensure safe, efficient production across fields in the Eastern Cape region.

Work closely with reservoir engineers, drilling teams, and field personnel to analyze production data, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions that maximize asset value while maintaining compliance with SH&E standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
Minimum 6 years of experience in production engineering in oil and gas.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Senior Production Engineer to join their operational team supporting activities near Queenstown . This role is critical for optimizing the recovery of hydrocarbons from existing fields, ensuring safe and efficient production operations. You will analyze production data, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions to maximize asset value. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the company's operational success within the oil and gas sector , working collaboratively with reservoir engineers, drilling teams, and field personnel to achieve production targets in the Eastern Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and analyze well and facility production performance, identifying trends and anomalies.
Optimize artificial lift systems (e.g., ESPs, rod pumps) to enhance production rates and efficiency.
Troubleshoot production-related issues, including wellbore problems and surface facility constraints.
Develop and implement workover and intervention programs to maintain or improve production.
Collaborate with reservoir engineers on field development plans and production forecasts.
Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations in all production activities.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in production engineering within the oil and gas industry.
Strong understanding of well performance, artificial lift systems, and production facilities.
Proficiency in production software and data analysis tools.
Experience with well testing, diagnostics, and intervention planning.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
