Job summary

Placements24 is seeking dedicated Field Operators to monitor and operate equipment at a gas processing plant in the Queenstown area. You will perform routine checks, respond to alarms, and execute procedures under supervisor guidance with a strong safety focus.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, detail orientation, and willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, in rugged conditions. Training and progression opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
• Previous operator experience in a chemical or gas processing plant is highly preferred.
• Basic understanding of process operations and safety protocols.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Physically fit for diverse environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant control systems (DCS) and alarms.
• Perform routine inspections on pumps, compressors, and vessels.
• Operate processing units to meet production specs.
• Safely conduct field operations including valve operations and sample collection.
• Follow safety procedures and environmental regulations.
• Assist with minor maintenance and report malfunctions.

About the Role

Our client is seeking dedicated and safety-conscious Field Operators to join their gas processing plant team in the Queenstown area. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for monitoring and operating various plant equipment to ensure the efficient and safe processing of natural gas. You will perform routine checks, respond to alarms, and execute operational procedures under the guidance of supervisors. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, possess strong attention to detail, and have a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and operational integrity. This role is fundamental to the daily functioning of our processing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor plant control systems (e.g., DCS ) and respond to operational parameters and alarms.
• Perform routine inspections and operational checks on plant equipment, including pumps, compressors, and vessels.
• Operate and control processing units to meet production specifications.
• Safely conduct field operations, including valve operations, sample collection, and minor adjustments.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and environmental regulations.
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks and report any equipment malfunctions or deviations.

Requirements
