Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing procurement teams.
• End-to-end procurement and contract lifecycle experience in government.
• Knowledge of governance, probity, risk and compliance.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy procurement environment.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and practical advisory skills.
• Commercial acumen in sourcing strategies and contract management.
• Committed to continuous improvement and capability development.
• Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience; valid Class C license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of procurement activities with focus on performance and customer experience.
• Provide specialist advice on complex, high-risk procurement matters.
• Lead procurement business partnering with Council service areas.
• Strengthen capability through training, coaching and guidance.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, probity.
• Support development of procurement strategies and panels.
• Oversee workflows, monitor performance and improve planning.
• Drive continuous improvement across processes and service delivery.
• Build relationships across the organisation for a responsive service.
• Lead and develop a team of four procurement professionals.
