Job summary

Lycopodium in Perth, Western Australia is seeking a Lead Process Engineer to join our growing process team. You will lead process engineering scopes across scoping, prefeasibility, feasibility and detailed engineering, delivering high-quality technical results.

The role requires 12+ years in mineral processing or hydrometallurgy, EPCM experience, and strong leadership. You will mentor engineers, coordinate with clients and vendors, and help drive safety, quality and continuous improvement on

Qualifications

• Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Min 12 years of experience in mineral processing, hydrometallurgy or mining project development.
• Proven experience in EPCM, engineering consultancy and mineral processing operations.
• Demonstrated leadership in engineering studies and project delivery within EPCM.
• Strong knowledge of process design, plant optimisation and commissioning in mineral processing.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Commercial awareness and a Client-focused approach.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering scopes across scoping to detailed engineering.
• Coordinate process engineering teams to deliver high-quality results.
• Develop and review design criteria, mass and water balances, P&IDs and datasheets.
• Oversee metallurgical testwork programmes and interpret results.
• Ensure designs comply with client, regulatory and company requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, discipline leads, vendors and clients.
• Lead the selection of process equipment, vendor evaluations and technical bid assessments.
• Identify project risks and implement practical engineering solutions.
• Provide technical guidance during construction and commissioning.
• Mentor graduate, intermediate and senior process engineers.
• Support proposals, business development activities and client presentations.
• Promote safety, quality, innovation and continuous improvement.
