Job summary

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Industry Officer to manage daily Prison Industries and oversee complex offender case management at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre in Melbourne. You will guide staff and prisoners, modelling professional conduct and ensuring secure operational procedures.

In this vocational environment you will supervise tasks, maintain professional boundaries, and contribute to rehabilitation discussions and program delivery.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in a correctional environment.
• Demonstrated experience in the effective supervision of workers engaged in a range of tasks.
• Computer literate with MS Office and willingness to learn Oracle programme.

Responsibilities

• Run the daily operational aspects of the DFPC Industries to meet production targets and maintain stock and financial records.
• Work with staff to ensure safety and security of prisoners, staff and visitors within the facility.
• Participate in continuous improvement processes including LEAN 5S and solution implementation.
