Job summary

Embedded Expertise is seeking an experienced Senior Substation Engineer to support major renewable energy and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, from concept design through construction and commissioning.

In a high-performing engineering team, you will lead HV substation, BESS and renewable energy design activities, develop primary electrical layouts, earthing and cabling studies, and review deliverables to ensure compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of HV substation or primary systems engineering experience.
• Experience delivering renewable energy and/or BESS projects.
• Strong knowledge of primary plant design, earthing systems and HV infrastructure.
• Experience undertaking and reviewing engineering studies and calculations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering activities across HV substation, BESS and renewable energy projects.

• Prepare and review substation layouts, earthing, cabling and associated infrastructure designs.

• Support construction and commissioning through technical advice and issue resolution.

Senior Substation Engineer | Renewables & BESS Projects | 6-Month Contract

Embedded Expertise is seeking an experienced Senior Substation Engineer to support the delivery of major renewable energy and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.

This contract opportunity will see you contributing to the design and delivery of large-scale renewable energy, BESS and HV substation projects, providing technical expertise across engineering design, studies, verification and project delivery.

About the Role

Working within a high-performing engineering team, you will play a key role in delivering substation and renewable energy infrastructure projects from concept design through to construction and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineering activities across HV substation, BESS and renewable energy projects
• Develop and review primary electrical designs and engineering studies
• Prepare and review substation layouts, earthing, cabling and associated infrastructure designs

About You

You are an experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in HV substation, renewable energy and BESS projects.

Key Requirements

• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering
• Chartered Engineer status, or eligibility to obtain
• 8+ years' experience in HV substation or primary systems engineering
• Experience delivering renewable energy and/or BESS projects
• Strong knowledge of primary plant design, earthing systems and HV infrastructure
• Experience undertaking and reviewing engineering studies and calculations
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
