Job summary

ACCIONA Energía seeks an experienced Senior Power Systems Engineer to lead grid connection activities for large-scale renewable projects in Australia. Based in Melbourne or Brisbane, you will guide feasibility studies, connection applications, commissioning and operation across wind, solar and battery storage assets.

You will work with AEMO, DNSPs/TNSPs and project teams to ensure compliant and timely connections, delivering robust studies, documentation and energisation support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in power systems engineering within renewable generation, transmission or distribution.
• Experience with grid connection processes (AEMO) and interactions with DNSPs/TNSPs.
• Knowledge of inverter-based resources including wind, solar and battery energy storage systems.
• Strong technical report writing and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Eligible for Engineers Australia membership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support grid connection activities across the full project lifecycle for wind, solar and battery energy storage assets.
• Deliver power system studies, technical assessments and grid connection documentation.
• Collaborate with AEMO, DNSPs/TNSPs, consultants and project teams to navigate connection requirements and approvals.
• Provide engineering leadership during commissioning, testing, model validation and energisation.
• Support operational assets by resolving power system performance issues and ensuring grid compliance.
• Contribute technical expertise to project development, bids and strategic initiatives.
