Job summary

ACCIONA Energía is seeking an experienced Senior Power Systems Engineer to lead grid connection activities for utility-scale wind, solar and storage projects across Australia. You will work with AEMO, DNSPs/TNSPs, consultants and project teams to secure connection approvals and support commissioning.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in power systems engineering within renewable generation, transmission or distribution.
• Strong experience with power system modelling tools including PSSE, PSCAD and/or PowerFactory.
• Experience with AEMO grid connection processes and interactions with DNSPs/TNSPs.
• Knowledge of inverter-based resources including wind, solar and battery energy storage systems.
• Strong technical report writing and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Eligible for membership of Engineers Australia.
• Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites when required.
• Current member status as RPEQ and RPEV or eligible for membership.

Responsibilities

• Lead grid connection activities for wind, solar and battery energy storage projects across the full project lifecycle.
• Deliver power system studies and grid connection documentation for compliant outcomes.
• Collaborate with AEMO, DNSPs/TNSPs, consultants and project teams on connection requirements.
• Provide engineering leadership during commissioning, testing and energisation.
• Support operations by resolving power system issues and ensuring grid compliance.
• Contribute technical input to project development and bids.
