Job summary

WSP Australia’s Power & Energy team seeks a Power Systems Engineer to lead HV substation design, grid studies and energy infrastructure projects. You’ll work with experts to deliver transmission and distribution solutions across Australia, including renewables integrations.

You’ll perform power system studies, model development, and support through commissioning, with site travel as needed. Mentoring juniors and contributing to proposals are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with Power Systems focus.
• 4–8+ years delivering transmission, distribution, or renewables projects.
• RPEQ/RPEV registration or eligibility to obtain.
• Experience in consulting/utility/EPC environments and practical engineering.
• Solid understanding of generation, transmission and distribution networks and standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑voltage primary design solutions for substations and infra.
• Develop and review power system models, specs, studies and reports.
• Undertake power system analyses: load flow, fault level, stability, dynamics.
• Support Owner's Engineer and technical due diligence engagements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers.
• Contribute to proposals, client engagement and business growth.
