Job summary

WSP in Australia seeks a Power Systems Engineer or Senior Power Systems Engineer to help deliver future-ready energy solutions across Australia, including HV substations, transmission and renewable projects.

You’ll work with industry experts across project lifecycles from feasibility through detailed design, commissioning and operation, and you’ll mentor junior engineers while contributing to proposals and client engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems.
• 4–8+ years delivering transmission, distribution, renewable energy, generation or power systems projects.
• RPEQ registration or eligibility to obtain it.
• Experience in consulting, utility, developer or EPC environments delivering practical engineering solutions.
• Solid understanding of generation, transmission and distribution networks and relevant standards.
• Hands-on experience with power system studies (load flow, planning, connection assessments).
• Proficiency in power system modelling tools such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory; knowledge of ETAP, PSCAD, Python is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑voltage primary design solutions for substations and transmission/distribution infrastructure.
• Develop and review power system models, specs, studies and reports to support planning and operation.
• Perform power system analyses including load flow, fault level, stability and dynamic performance studies.
