Job summary

Allan's Pool Shop in Far North Queensland is seeking a reliable Senior Swimming Pool Technician to join our service team. You will maintain domestic, commercial and public pools and spas, applying strong problem-solving and communication skills to explain maintenance needs to clients.

Successful candidates will pass a Police Check and hold relevant certifications, with opportunities for ongoing training and career progression within our growing local business.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a similar pool service role.
• Knowledge of building, maintaining and plumbing of pools and spas.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Understanding of WHS procedures and compliance.
• Physically fit for digging, heavy equipment and scuba operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain pools and spas in domestic, commercial and public settings.
• Diagnose and repair advanced large commercial equipment faults.
• Mentor junior staff and support the team.
• Explain maintenance needs to clients and report findings to management.

About the role

Allan's Pool Shop is seeking a reliable, honest and hard-working Senior Swimming Pool Technician to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a candidate with demonstrated experience in a similar role to maintain swimming pools and spas in domestic, commercial and public settings. This would suit someone who is naturally mathematically minded and has great communication skills as the applicant will have varied responsibilities across pool servicing, and maintenance.

Successful applicant has to pass a Police Check and be able to hold a Working Children and Elderly Blue Card.

Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated experience in a similar role , Minimum 5 years experience
• Previous Leak Detectionexperience-Highly Regarded
• Scuba Ticket -Preferable
• Demonstrated knowledge of building, maintaining and plumbing ofswimming pools and spas
• Ability to work autonomously, without supervision
• Ability to support the team and be a mentor to junior staff
• Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and a focus on compliance and WHS procedures
• Physically fit - No physical limitations that may impede digging, rubble removal, wearing a scuba tank or the use of jackhammers or cutting saws

About You

This role is suited to a bright personality who can take the time to explain to our clients (many of whom have never owned a pool before) how to successfully maintain their swimming pools to a high standard.

An eye for detail and the experience to diagnose problems and report back in an efficient manner is also a highly desirable trait in the successful applicant. The ability to transmit information quickly to key personnel in the organisation is also a skill our ideal candidate would possess.
