Job summary

You will join the Youth Justice team in Melbourne to lead a policy and project staff, delivering operational policy and procedures across Youth Justice Community and Custodial Operations. The role drives guidance that reflects contemporary best practice and compliance with the Youth Justice Act 2024 and other legislation.

You will engage with stakeholders to build collaborative partnerships, ensuring timely delivery of policy updates and contributing to safer, more effective youth justice

Qualifications

• Experience leading a multi-disciplinary team.
• Knowledge of Youth Justice environment and best practices.
• Strong analytical skills for complex policy and legal issues.
• Experience interpreting legislation or applying rules to practical situations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of policy and project staff to develop, review and maintain operational policy, procedures and practice guidelines.
• Provide authoritative advice on legal, policy and operational issues in Youth Justice documents.
• Ensure policy and guidelines comply with relevant acts and legislation.
• Build partnerships across Operational Policy and Workforce to align priorities and deliver common goals.
