Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Senior Policy Officer to drive evidence-based policy outcomes from Sydney. You will join the Road Safety, Licensing & Vehicle Standards team to deliver research, analyses and policy advice that aligns with government priorities.

The role requires consultative, results-focused work with diverse stakeholders and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic public sector environment. Based at the Sydney office with ongoing collaboration.

In this role, you'll:

Join the Road Safety, Licensing & Vehicle Standards team and play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of NSW Government policy initiatives.

You will undertake research, analysis and monitoring of emerging issues, trends and opportunities to inform evidence-based policy outcomes.

Prepare high-quality policy advice, briefing notes, reports, submissions and discussion papers, ensuring recommendations are clear, well-informed and aligned with government priorities and strategic objectives.

Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, you will consult, influence and build strong relationships to develop practical, evidence-based policy solutions that support the strategic goals of the Transport cluster.

This permanent full-time role is based at our Elizabet Street office. The team regularly collaborates in person and comes together for branch all-in days, training, planning workshops and other collaborative activities to support collaborative outcomes across the branch.
