Job summary

Scotford Fennessy Recruitment seeks an experienced People & Culture Advisor for a 12 month parental leave contract. You will work closely with operational leaders, delivering practical P&C support across the employee lifecycle and ensuring fair processes in line with legislation and policies.

Ideal candidates will have generalist HR/ER experience in manufacturing or operational settings, tertiary HR qualifications, and strong knowledge of Awards and Australian employment law.

Responsibilities

Excellent opportunity for an experienced People & Culture Advisor to join a well-established organisation operating within a fast-paced, operational environment.

This is a 12 month parental leave contract that will suit a confident HR generalist who enjoys being close to the business, supporting operational leaders and providing practical advice across the full employee lifecycle. The position reports directly to the General Manager - People & Culture.

The Role

Working closely with leaders, supervisors and employees, you will provide hands on People & Culture support across a broad range of operational HR matters. You'll be a trusted point of contact for the business, providing pragmatic advice and ensuring people matters are handled consistently, fairly and in line with relevant legislation and company policies.

• Providing generalist HR advice across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, probation, transfers, promotions and exits.
• Managing employee relations matters, including performance management, investigations, grievances and misconduct.
• Interpreting and applying Awards, employment legislation and internal policies.
• Coaching and supporting leaders to manage employee matters confidently and consistently.
• Supporting organisational change, including restructures, roster or shift changes and relocations.
• Assisting with consultation, communication and employee transition activities associated with workplace change.
• Coordinating cyclical P&C activities including performance and development reviews, remuneration discussions and workforce planning.
• Reporting on workforce information including turnover, absenteeism and ER trends.
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding, training and capability development initiatives.
• Contributing to employee engagement, recognition and broader workplace culture initiatives.

About You

You will be an experienced People & Culture professional who is comfortable operating in a practical, hands on environment and partnering closely with operational stakeholders.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Generalist HR/ER experience within manufacturing, heavy industry or another operational environment.
• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of employee relations, Awards and Australian employment legislation.
• Experience supporting leaders through performance, conduct, workplace change and broader workforce challenges.
• The ability to build trusted relationships with employees, frontline leaders and senior stakeholders.
