Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) in Sydney is seeking a Senior People Advisor on a fixed-term contract through to 30 June 2027. You’ll provide trusted HR guidance across employee relations and lifecycle matters, working within our People & Culture team to support a high-quality employee experience.

You’ll coach fellow advisers, help evolve advisory practices and contribute to an HRIS implementation while maintaining operational continuity during this critical period for AFCA's

Qualifikationen

• Significant hands-on HR generalist experience at a senior advisory level.
• Strong experience independently managing employee relations and lifecycle matters.
• Deep knowledge of Australian employment law: Fair Work Act and NES.
• Experience interpreting industrial instruments and People policies.
• Strong judgement and risk assessment in sensitive matters.
• Experience coaching other HR professionals without formal leadership.
• Practical experience with People policy governance, review and implementation.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and build trusted relationships.
• Relevant HR or related qualification.

Aufgaben

• Provide practical, commercially sound advice across employee relations and lifecycle matters.
• Act as escalation point for People Advisors; coaching and quality review.
• Support daily triage, prioritisation and case management across the People Advisory team.
• Help embed tiered People service model with clear ownership and escalation.
• Oversee policy governance including review cycles and publication.
• Review and simplify policies, templates and guidance.
• Identify opportunities to improve advisory processes and service delivery.
• Provide input into HRIS testing and readiness as required.
• Partner with Payroll, Legal and Risk.
