Job summary

Sharp and Carter is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Project Analyst for an initial six-month contract in Australia. The role focuses on supporting Time & Attendance implementation and EBA payroll changes, with hybrid working options and a long-term transformation agenda across payroll systems.

You will engage with Payroll, HR and external vendors to ensure accurate payroll outcomes, perform reconciliations and data validation, and maintain audit-ready documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in medium to large organisations with multiple Awards and EBA changes.
• Strong payroll governance and compliance knowledge.
• Experience supporting payroll projects and system implementations.
• Familiarity with UKG/Kronos, Chris21/iChris or similar platforms.
• Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Time & Attendance system implementation activities, including testing and UAT.
• Assist with testing and validation of EA and payroll configuration changes.
• Perform payroll reconciliations, data validation, back-pay calculations and compliance checks.
• Collaborate with Payroll, HR, project stakeholders and external vendors.
• Provide payroll processing and admin support during peak periods.
• Maintain testing docs, process maps and project records for audits.

About the Opportunity

A well-established organisation seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Project Analyst to join the team on an initial six-month contract. This role has been created to provide additional support across several key payroll initiatives, including the implementation of a new Time & Attendance solution and the rollout of Enterprise Agreement (EBA) changes.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Payroll Leadership team, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting Time & Attendance system implementation activities, including system testing, UAT execution, defect management and implementation readiness.
• Assisting with the testing and validation of Enterprise Agreement and payroll configuration changes, ensuring accurate payroll outcomes.
• Performing payroll reconciliations, data validation, back-pay calculations and compliance checks.
• Working closely with Payroll, HR, project stakeholders and external vendors to support successful project delivery.
• Providing additional payroll processing and administration support during peak periods.
• Maintaining testing documentation, process maps and project records to support audit and governance requirements.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate:

• Previous payroll experience within a medium to large organisation operating under multiple Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
• Strong understanding of payroll compliance, interpretation and payroll governance requirements.
• Proven experience supporting payroll projects, system implementations, upgrades or transformation initiatives.
• Exposure to systems such as UKG/Kronos, Chris21/iChris, or similar payroll and workforce management platforms.
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
