Job summary

Centacare is seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to join a large, dedicated payroll team on a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential to become permanent. The role is hands-on and involves end-to-end payroll across a 4,000-strong workforce, with a focus on accuracy, deadlines and coaching other team members.

Ideally, you have 4-5+ years in payroll, experience interpreting modern awards (SCHADS/CSA advantageous), and comfort with high-volume processing and STP requirements.

Qualifications

• 4-5+ years of hands-on payroll experience in a large or complex organisation.
• Strong end-to-end payroll experience, including running payroll.
• Experience with SCHADS Award and CSA is highly desirable.
• Exposure to payroll transformation or HCM initiatives is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Run and support end-to-end payroll across a large workforce.
• Interpret and apply modern awards and employment conditions.
• Support STP requirements.
• Process terminations, backpays and payroll adjustments; complete reconciliations.
