Job summary

Centacare Brisbane is seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to join our payroll team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with potential to become permanent. You will lead end-to-end payroll for a large workforce, ensuring accuracy and timely processing across diverse services.

We value experience with SCHADS Award/CSA, STP and payroll transformations. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement and opportunities for coaching and process improvements within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• 4–5+ years of hands-on payroll experience in a large/complex organisation.
• Strong end-to-end payroll experience including running payroll.
• Experience with SCHADS Award and CSA is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with STP requirements and payroll transformations.

Responsibilities

• Run end-to-end payroll processing for a large workforce.
• Ensure payrolls are accurate and meet deadlines.
• Interpret and apply modern awards and enterprise agreements.
• Support STP requirements and payroll reporting.
• Process complex changes, backpays and adjustments.
• Complete reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare and validate payroll reports.
• Utilise Excel for reconciliations and data validation.
