Job summary

National Transport Research Organisation is seeking a Senior Pavement / Sustainability Engineer to work from Melbourne or Brisbane, focusing on sustainable transport infrastructure and recycled materials for transport networks in Australia and NZ.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, strong background in applied research, and ability to engage with multiple stakeholders while delivering practical outcomes in line with decarbonisation goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's, master's or higher in Civil, Chemical or Materials Engineering or related field.
5+ years of experience in sustainable transport infrastructure.
Experience with recycled materials and pavement technologies.
Ability to design labs and field trials, interpret results and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

Design and conduct laboratory studies and field trials for sustainable pavement technologies.
Translate complex results for a general audience and stakeholders.
Understand government sustainability policies and environmental regulations.
Test and implement emerging infrastructure materials and contribute to commercialisation of sustainable materials.
Contribute to bids, proposals and business cases and deliver work won.
Collaborate with government bodies, sustainability agencies and industry partners.
