Job summary

Mott MacDonald, Brisbane, is seeking a talented Pavement Engineer to join our Queensland Transport team. You will lead pavement projects, mentor junior engineers, and develop high-standard design reports and drawings for national and international assignments.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, RPEQ (or in progress within 6 months), and strong pavement design experience. Chartered professional status is preferred, with opportunities for progression within a supportive, diverse

Qualifications

• Pavement design experience and technical skills are essential.
• Experience on multi-disciplinary civil infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support national and international pavement projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and assist with new bids.
• Develop technical design reports and drawings to high standards.
• Demonstrate understanding of flexible and rigid pavement design per Austroads guidelines.
• Contribute to transport engineering design across tunnels, ports, intermodals, haul roads, rail and aviation when needed.

Your Opportunity

Ready to take the next step? Mott MacDonald’s Queensland Transport team is growing and we’re looking for a talented Pavement Engineer to join our business. This position would suit a candidate that is potentially eager to move into a senior role. You will work on and support signature national and international projects and continue to develop as a professional engineer and have the opportunity to:

• Be integral to the pavement engineering team to lead and support national and international pavement engineering projects
• Support and mentor junior engineers and provide input to new bid opportunities
• Develop technical design reports and drawings to a high standard
• Demonstrate technical understanding of flexible and rigid pavement design in accordance with Austroads and state/local government design guidelines
• Pavement design experience in tunnels, ports and intermodals, haul roads, rail and aviation is desirable
• General design experience in transport engineering projects is ideal

About You

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ), or be in the process of obtaining your RPEQ within 6 months
• Chartered Professional Engineer is preferable
• Demonstrated pavement design experience
• Provide strong technical skills in pavement engineering
• Proven experience working on multi-disciplinary civil infrastructure projects
• Highly motivated individual with excellent communication and written skills
