Job summary

Western Sydney Local Health District invites applications for an Outpatient Paediatric Senior Social Worker based at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals. You will lead specialist paediatric social work, deliver evidence-based interventions and mentor team members in a busy multidisciplinary clinic.

You'll manage complex psychosocial presentations, partner with medical and allied health staff to coordinate family-centred care, and contribute to service improvement and professional supervision

Qualifications

• High level clinical experience with infants, children and families.
• Advanced practice skills for comprehensive assessments and interventions in child protection, domestic violence, and disability.
• Understanding of challenges for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, refugees and CALD groups.
• Experience developing policies and supervising staff or students.
• Strong time management and report writing skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in quality assurance or clinical practice improvement.
• Willingness to participate in After Hours Crisis On-Call Service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver complex assessments and tailored interventions for children, young people and families.
• Identify vulnerability and respond to child protection concerns.
• Provide expert consultation and supervision to colleagues and students.
• Lead service planning, evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and engage in ongoing professional development.
