Job summary

Genus Group in Melbourne seeks an experienced Senior Scheduler to plan and deliver major infrastructure projects using Primavera P6. You will develop and basel ine detailed schedules, monitor progress and report on performance to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with budgets and resources.

The role requires 5+ years in project planning, a relevant engineering/construction degree, and strong risk and schedule reporting skills. A proactive, autonomous yet collaborative approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in project planning, scheduling or controls.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Primavera P6.
• Degree in engineering, construction management or related discipline.
• Experience developing and managing complex project schedules with baselines and forecasts.
• Strong knowledge of project controls, risk management and schedule performance reporting.
• Experience analysing planned versus actual progress, resources, hours and costs.
• Excellent organisational, analytical and time management skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

About the Role

Genus Group is seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler to support the planning and delivery of major infrastructure projects. You will develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6, monitor project progress, manage schedule risks and provide accurate reporting to support project performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, baseline and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Monitor project progress against agreed schedules, milestones, budgets and resources.
• Analyse schedule performance, identify risks and delays, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare progress reports, forecasts and schedule performance updates for project stakeholders.
• Track actual versus planned hours, costs and activities, ensuring alignment between project schedules and cost control systems.
• Maintain schedule baselines and manage approved changes.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders to ensure effective project planning.
• Provide planning and scheduling advice, support and guidance to project teams.
• Oversee and mentor project planners and schedulers, promoting consistent planning practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve project controls, scheduling processes and reporting.

• Exposure to transmission, distribution, substations, communications or renewable energy infrastructure.
• Experience mentoring or supporting other planners and schedulers.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, construction or a related discipline.
• Current White Card.
• Current National Police Clearance, or willingness to obtain one if required.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety.
