Job summary

GenusPlus Group in Melbourne is seeking a Junior Planner/Scheduler to support project planning across infrastructure projects. You will help maintain schedules, track progress and prepare reports using Primavera P6, while developing your project controls skills.

Working with experienced teams, you will assist with baselines, changes and forecasting, contributing to efficient planning, scheduling and reporting processes within the power and utilities sector.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering/construction management or related field.
• Experience in project planning or controls preferred.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and updating project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Track progress against milestones and timelines.
• Monitor resources, costs and schedule performance.
• Prepare progress reports and schedule updates for teams.
• Identify potential delays and risks in scheduling.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and subcontractors for progress updates.
• Maintain baselines and approved changes to schedules.
• Support forecasting, earned value reporting and controls.

About the Role

GenusPlus Group is seeking a Junior Planner/Scheduler to support project planning and scheduling across infrastructure projects. Working alongside experienced project teams, you will help maintain project schedules, track progress and prepare reports using Primavera P6, while developing your project controls skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with developing, maintaining and updating project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Track project progress against planned activities, milestones and timelines.
• Assist with monitoring resources, costs and schedule performance.
• Prepare progress reports and provide regular schedule updates to project teams.
• Identify potential delays, scheduling issues and project risks.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, subcontractors and other stakeholders to gather progress updates.
• Assist with maintaining project schedules, baselines and approved changes.
• Support project forecasting, earned value reporting and project controls activities.
• Contribute to improving planning, scheduling and reporting processes.

Skills and Experience

• Experience in project planning, scheduling or project controls, ideally within an infrastructure or construction environment.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 or other project scheduling software.
• A tertiary qualification in engineering, construction management or a related discipline.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Good analytical, problem-solving and time management skills.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• A willingness to learn and develop your planning and scheduling capabilities.

Desirable Experience

• Exposure to utilities, construction, resources or infrastructure projects.
• An understanding of transmission, distribution, substations, communications or renewable energy projects.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in engineering, construction or a related discipline, or currently completing relevant studies.
• Current White Card, or willingness to obtain one.
• Current National Police Clearance, or willingness to obtain one if required.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety.
