Job summary

Cathara Consulting seeks a Senior OT Design Manager – Electrical and Instrumentation to lead the design of secure, reliable electrical, SCADA and control systems for major water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

You will drive electrical and SCADA concept development, prepare design and tender specifications, and oversee PLC/SCADA development across the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Control Systems or Power Engineering, with experience in water, wastewater or utilities environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical and SCADA concept, engineering and detailed designs, including switchboard design and mods.
• Prepare design and tender specs, support bid evaluations, provide technical advice across multidisciplinary projects.
• Direct PLC code and SCADA development from user requirements through testing, installation and acceptance.
• Manage all deliverables to meet design specs and industry regulations.
• Collaborate with project teams, partners, subcontractors and vendors, and mentor engineers.

Cathara Consulting is seeking a Senior OT Design Manager – Electrical and Instrumentation to play a leading role in shaping secure, reliable and future-ready electrical, SCADA and control systems for major water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of electrical and SCADA concept, engineering and detailed designs for applications, including switchboard design and modifications.
• Prepare design and tender specifications, support bid evaluations, provide technical advice across multidisciplinary projects.
• Direct PLC code and SCADA development from user requirements and concept design through detailed documentation, testing, site installation, commissioning and client acceptance.
• Manage and ensure all deliverables meet design specifications and industry regulations.
• Collaborate, engage and drive project teams, construction partners, subcontractors and vendors, and mentor new and graduate engineers.

About You

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Control Systems or Power Engineering, with experience in water, wastewater or utilities environments.
• Strong knowledge of Australian electrical standards, SCADA engineering, OT networks, RTUs, control systems and industrial communications.
• Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder design projects and collaborate effectively across project, construction, vendor and contractor teams.
• Experience delivering OT solutions across power, gas, LNG, utilities or similar industrial sectors, with proficiency in MS Office applications.
