Job summary

Cathara Consulting is seeking an experienced Project Director to drive end-to-end project management in a highly governed environment. You will collaborate with delivery teams, change specialists and senior stakeholders to maintain momentum, transparency and continuous improvement across delivery cycles.

Responsibilities include managing plans, schedules, risks and dependencies, while tailoring PRINCE2 and agile practices to the operating context.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex multi-stream programs in a governed environment.
• Strong skills in project planning, scheduling, assurance, and reporting.
• Ability to tailor PRINCE2 and apply agile delivery practices.
• Proven capability to manage risks, issues, changes, dependencies and priorities.

• Keep activity schedules, phase approaches, aligned and on track.
• Guide multiple functions on stage deliverables, sequencing and priorities.
• Tailor PRINCE2 and agile ways of working for the environment.
• Manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, risks and dependencies.
• Identify risks, propose responses and escalate through governance channels.
• Provide fortnightly progress, stage-end and exception reports.
• Collaborate with delivery teams, change management and PMO.
• Participate in Project Control Group and maintain visibility across delivery.
• Deliver effective handover of project management activities at engagement end.

Cathara Consulting are seeking an experienced Project Director to provide end-to-end project management services within a complex, highly governed environment. Working collaboratively with delivery teams, change specialists, senior stakeholders and the Project Control Group, the successful candidate will maintain delivery momentum, strengthen transparency and support continuous improvement in project management practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the overarching Project Plan and detailed Stage Plans across planning and delivery cycles.
• Keep project activity schedules and phase approaches current, aligned and on track.
• Guide multiple project functions on stage deliverables, sequencing, dependencies and planning priorities.
• Tailor PRINCE2 practices and agile ways of working to suit the operating environment.
• Manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, risks, issues, changes and dependencies.
• Identify emerging risks and issues, recommend practical responses and **escalate** through the appropriate governance channels.
• Provide fortnightly progress reports, stage-end reports, exception reports and clear status updates.
• Work closely with delivery teams, change management, stakeholder management and the Project Support Office.
• Participate actively in the Project Control Group and maintain visibility across all areas of delivery.
• Provide an effective handover of project management activities at the end of the engagement.

About You

• Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-stream programs or projects in a structured governance environment.
• Strong capability in project planning, scheduling, assurance, reporting, resource oversight and project controls.
• Practical experience applying and tailoring PRINCE2, together with an understanding of agile delivery practices.
• Proven ability to manage risks, issues, changes, dependencies and competing priorities.
• Confidence engaging senior stakeholders, governance groups, delivery teams and change specialists.
• Excellent communication, analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative, transparent and continuous-improvement mindset.
